Pioneer Program: Step back in time when settlers had to be self-reliant. Students experienced skills needed to survive in Pioneer Florida. Activities Candle Making, Weaving, Spinning, Woodworking, Butter Making and a visit to the Farm. Our first stop making candles, intro to making wool into yarn to spin, off to the farm, woodworking shop and a taste of yummy homemade butter. Pioneers worked hard, but were very creative in using all materials. I noticed the rag rugs made on the loom were just like my Mom's. We used the shuttle and weave through the warp and weft.
