2 Friends TOUR Orlando
Another great evening of enjoying amazing talent, Amy Grant was able to help Michael W. Smith over 25 years ago to get his start in Christian music. The night filled with 1986-2011 music from each artist. Glory the new Cd to be released as a sequel to Micheal's Freedom Cd. He says it is his personal movie sound trax running in his head. Absolutely amazing! Grandma Doreen was able to join with us, Joanne & Jillian for a 3 hour unforgettable evening of laughter and praise to the most High God, Yahweh the King of the Israel. Amen. Asheville, NC-Biltmore House, Blue Ridge Parkway, Chimney Rock, Greenville and Savannah, GA
Then in October we drove ten hours through Georgia and South Carolina, and arrived at Asheville, NC to see the biggest house built in the 1895 (The Biltmore Estate). The Biltmore house is obviously not a regular house; well not unless a 70 foot high dining room, 250 rooms, and 121,000 acres of back yard is your life. Let’s just say this is a very big house 4 acres under roof fit for a king, with 500 year old tapestries, a library full of ancient books, a giant indoor garden, party rooms, an indoor pool, even a bowling alley. It took our breath away. After the house, we went to the Stable Gift Shop and my sister bought a dazzling diamond owl necklace with a matching owl’s case. I bought a black pearl like beaded necklace with white and clear mini beads braided around it. Then we walk to the outdoor gardens with rows and rows of colorful flowers of bright pink, bronze red, sunset orange, deep yellow, baby blue, light purple everywhere we looked. After that we rode a bus to our car and drove to the village near by. There were only a few shops there, so we decided to go and see the winery. My parents tasted about three types of wine till we bought the Century Red Wine, and the Pinot Noir (Pinot is a type of grape, and Noir means black).
The next day we drove two hours on Blue Ridge Parkway, watching vibrant autumn leaves of all different colors, shapes, and sizes decorating the mountains. Everywhere I looked was stunningly beautiful, something I will never forget. Then we drove to Chimney Rock (a large rock on top of a mountain that looks like it is going to fall at any moment LOL). The elevator was broken so we had to climb 470 stairs. The view absolutely paid off, we enjoyed the warm breeze while taking in the beauty of God’s splendid handy work. We traveled to Greenville, SC to see Bob Jones University where my parents went to college. They told us all about there college years and showed us how much it had changed since they last saw it 16 years ago. by Dayna

In October 24-27th, 2011 the family went on a vacation up to Asheville, North Carolina. It took nine hours straight to get there in the packed car with Daddy, Mommy, Dayna and Jillian (me). At the Brookstone Hotel the hot tub was down and Daddy really wanted the hot-tub to soak his feet following a day’s hike. So Daddy canceled the room and we drove around to find another one. After looking at a cute little pink Barbie Bed & Breakfast, we found a Holiday Inn open with a working hot-tub, a pool, and free internet! It had everything everyone wanted! So that night everyone but I got their swimsuits on and walked down to the pool and just relaxed. I chilled in the room.
The next day after a good sleep the family went to Biltmore House, the largest home in America with 250 rooms and 75 acres of gardens. The rooms were so pretty especially Mrs. Vanderbilt’s. It was deep purple and golden yellow all around the room with a decorative ceiling. The reason the husband and wife had separate rooms was because they had personal assistants to dress them. Then after the tour I bought a great horned owl necklace and Dayna bought a braided black beaded necklace at the stable shop. Following that we went to Antler Village and Daddy and Mommy tasted some wine in the winery and went to the stables to pet some animals. The whole family got hungry and we ate at Ryan’s. The food was better than cafeteria food, but it was prepackaged food, there was nothing homemade. Then the whole family headed back to the hotel for some sleep. The next day everyone helped packed the car. We drove on the windy Blue Ridge Parkway to Chimney Rock. We saw many colors on the numerous leaves, reds, oranges, yellows, and greens. At Chimney Rock we climbed up to the picture spots. After a couple of family pictures we had to climb back down the 470 steps.
Traveling to Greenville, South Carolina, we stopped at different places where our Mommy worked, Majesty Music, an old music store, and the Snack Shop at Bob Jones University. Second, we walked around BJU where they went to college. All girls have to wear skirts and all boys have to wear ties. Third, we stopped both at a small farm house that our parents rented and their first home they owned when they were newly married. At the small farm house there was a big field on the other side of the street where they use to run Mackadoo, their first dog. Finally, we had an awesome dinner at Staxs Omega, a Greek restaurant.
We decided to travel to Savannah, Georgia because Daddy didn’t want to drive all the way home that night. Driving for four hours, we arrived at the Baymont Hotel at around midnight. The whole family quickly unpacked and fell asleep really fast. The next morning we toured the area and saw the third oldest synagogue in the US called Mikvah Israel. At our next stop we parked the car at Forsyth Park and walked down the main sidewalk that was canopied with grand live oak trees on either side hanging with Spanish moss. We found artists sketching a large, white, double tiered fountain, with mini pan-like gods and swans. After lunch we drove homeward to Florida arriving just in time for Pirates of Penzance play practice. At the end it was an adventurous time to be with family. :D Jillian Beatty
